TCCC Charity of the Year

Every year TCCC vote for a new charity to support.

The current 2016/17 charity is The Ley Community

The Ley Community (TLC) was established in 1971 and have been saving lives and restoring families and communities for over 44 years. TLC is a Therapeutic Community recovery model of intervention for men and women with problems with dependency and addiction including: drugs, alcohol, new psychoactive substances (NPS, also known as legal highs), gambling, eating, and sex addiction.

Their programme is peer driven, self-help and abstinence and helps to enhance life skills and recovery capital because it encourages behaviour change, developing self-worth and self-confidence, improved social skills together with the ability to manage personal responsibilities, physical and mental health and well-being.

The next 2017/18 charity will be Oxpip (Oxford Parent Infant Project) as voted at the last AGM

OXPIP tackles some of society’s most challenging issues by helping parents and their babies to form strong and loving attachments. Relationships are at the heart of our lives – but they are not always simple or happy. Research tells us that early experiences and damaged relationships can have lifelong consequences.

OXPIP offers intensive therapeutic help to parents and their babies in Oxfordshire and Berkshire in the first two years. We support families by working with parents and infant together, to build on the positive, to boost parental confidence, and help the parents be led by the needs of the baby. We know that OXPIP’s unique approach can, and does help.
